- Businesses moving from spreadsheets to accounting software

How it works
Request a call back
Send the short form or call us. An expert calls you to understand your situation and answer your questions.
Receive a written quotation
It sets out the monthly scope, what is included and excluded, and a monthly fee with GST shown separately.
Onboarding
We set up opening balances and your chart of accounts, and agree a date each month by which you share documents.
Monthly bookkeeping
We record and reconcile the month and send you a short list of questions for anything unclear.
Monthly reports
You receive the profit and loss, balance sheet and any items that need your attention.
How long it takes
We close each month by an agreed date after the month ends, once we have your statements, bills and answers to our questions.
The main things that affect timing:
- Sharing documents and answering questions by the agreed date
- Your monthly transaction volume
- The state of past records, if we take over from someone else
Common questions
How long do records need to be kept?
Companies must preserve their books of account for at least eight financial years. GST records must be kept for at least 72 months from the due date of the annual return for the year they relate to.
Does our accounting software need an audit trail?
For companies, yes. Since 1 April 2023, a company that keeps its books in software must use software that records an audit trail (edit log) of every change, which cannot be switched off.
Which accounting software do you use?
We can usually work in the software you already use. If you are starting fresh, we suggest options that suit your size; licence costs are separate.
Can you catch up on months or years that were never recorded?
Yes. We review what exists first, then quote the catch-up separately from the monthly fee.
